In spring 2020, the University of Iowa extended the timeline for development of its next five-year strategic plan in order to provide the campus an opportunity to better evaluate the impact of COVID-19.

In January 2021, the university is re-launching the planning effort with a revised development process, a structure for implementation that incorporates a process for allocating strategic P3 funding, and a clear vision for the university's future as a "destination university," or university of first choice.

The graphic below provides an overview of the strategic plan process in three phases, from development through implementation to outcomes.  We encourage every member of the university community to browse these pages to learn more about each phase of the plan.
